About Walltopia
We are Walltopia, and we believe that success never comes as a surprise. Nor does it depend on something outside our control. For the past 28+ years, we have built a reputation as the world's leader in designing and manufacturing climbing walls and active entertainment solutions. We are driven by results and win through innovation, dedication, attention to detail, and a deep knowledge of our customers.
Our Adrenaline Products division — Mountain coasters, Ziplines, the Tree Course, Ropes courses, Jump & Run, Rollglider and Free-fall attractions — is one of the fastest-growing parts of our business. These are engineered outdoor attractions sold to ski and mountain resorts, adventure parks and tourism destinations across the world. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to expand and maximize their market potential.
This role includes relocation to Sofia, Bulgaria. The position is based at our headquarters, where the attractions you will sell are designed, engineered and manufactured. If you are building a career in adventure-attraction sales and are open to an international move, the details below are written for you.
Why Consider This Move
- Sell what the factory behind you builds: Your proposals are backed by the architects, structural engineers and production teams working in the same building. Few sales roles in this industry put you this close to the product — most competitors sell from a distance; you will sell from the source.
- A portfolio, not a product: Mountain coasters, ziplines, ropes courses, the Tree Course, Rollglider and Free-fall attractions — engineered, manufactured and installed by one company. You bring destinations a complete attraction mix, not a single ride.
- Your market stays your market: You will travel regularly to client sites, trade shows (IAAPA, Interalpin, adventure-tourism and mountain-resort expos) and terrain evaluations across Europe. Relocating to Sofia does not mean leaving your region's industry network — it means representing a manufacturer inside it.
- Ownership, not inheritance: You will build your own client network and sales channels in a growing market, not manage someone else's accounts.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and own an outdoor-adventure client network: Target and develop lasting relationships with ski and mountain resorts, adventure and adventure-park operators, tourism and destination developers, holiday and camping parks, nature and national parks, hotels and resort groups, and municipalities investing in outdoor tourism.
- Drive consultative, destination-led sales: Position Walltopia's adrenaline portfolio as anchor attractions that drive footfall, dwell time, and year-round revenue. Influence the master plan and attraction mix early, and build the commercial case around throughput and return on investment.
- Manage complex, project-based sales cycles: Prepare tailored proposals that communicate visitor experience, capacity, site integration, and total cost of ownership. Keep all opportunities, communications, and technical specifications current in the CRM.
- Cross-functional technical coordination: Collaborate directly with HQ architects, structural engineers, and production teams to ensure attractions fit the terrain, slope, and site conditions, meet regional safety standards (e.g., EN 15567 and ACCT/ASTM F2959 for ropes and aerial adventure; EN 13814/ASTM F2291 for coasters and rides), and hit client budgets and installation windows.
- Expand global reach via partnerships: Identify, onboard, and manage local sales agents and regional distributors to scale the adrenaline division into new outdoor-tourism markets.
What We're Looking For
- Industry Experience: Proven B2B sales or business development experience in adventure attractions, ropes courses, ski/mountain resorts, amusement rides, outdoor recreation, tourism, or construction.
- Target Audience Expertise: Understanding of selling to resort and destination operators and investors, where the buyer weighs capital investment against visitor experience and long-term returns.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read technical drawings and site/terrain plans. Familiarity with adventure and ride safety standards (EN 15567, ACCT, ASTM F2959, EN 13814) is a strong advantage.
- Strategic & Proactive Mindset: Self-driven ability to open new markets, build sales channels from the ground up, and implement growth strategies.
- Communication Skills: Highly developed presentation and negotiation skills, capable of pitching complex, high-value projects to owners, boards, and investment committees.
- Language: Excellent command of English, written and spoken — English is the working language at our headquarters. Additional foreign languages are a strong plus.
- Education: A Technical, Engineering, Tourism, or related background is highly preferred.
- Mobility: Readiness to relocate to Sofia and to travel internationally — trade shows, site visits and terrain evaluations are a core part of the role.
Relocation
We know an international move is a bigger decision than a job change. Relocation terms are discussed individually and early in the hiring process, so you can make the decision with full information.
Working at Our Headquarters
Walltopia's headquarters in Sofia is where the company designs, engineers and manufactures everything it sells. You will work alongside the architects, structural engineers and production teams behind every proposal you make, in an international, English-speaking environment. The commercial case you present to a resort in Austria or a destination developer in Greece is built metres away from where the attraction itself takes shape.
Living in Sofia
Sofia is one of Europe's more straightforward relocation destinations: an EU capital with an international business environment, direct flights across the continent, and a cost of living well below Western European cities — meaning your income goes further here. For someone from the outdoor industry, the location itself is part of the offer: Vitosha mountain rises directly above the city, with skiing and trail networks twenty minutes from the office, and Bulgaria's mountain resorts — Bansko, Borovets, Pamporovo — within a two-hour drive.
How Hiring Works
Interviews are conducted online, with a final on-site stage in Sofia that doubles as your first look at the headquarters, the production facility and the city. We are transparent about compensation and relocation terms early in the process — an international move should be decided with full information, not after an offer.
